Glogster Experience
Preparing a glogster page was
the most entertaining and the easiest task from the beginning of the course.
It was really an easy job after
gathering relevant and necessary information. I chose the Siberian husky as my
animal. I dont know why I chose it but it is probably due to its outer
features: it looks cute to me. After gathering the required information, having
the total freedom of editing the page ( missing the templates) made me feel enjoyed
and happy.
The shapes , text boxes , the design of pages
are so attractive and catchy for students that the illustration of the same
topic or notion in a traditional way ( on a white page) and in a creative way (
a glogster page) can arouse the before and after effect of the product
advertisement in terms efficiency and accessibility of learning and teaching . Using glogster,
teachers can express the same things in a more interesting and authentic way
and so facilitate learning. Black inscription on white paper can bore but
colorful design , little boxes , graphic
and video attachments leave less chance for students to be bored or apathetic
to the classroom context.

First Experience of DS
DIGITAL STROYTELLING
Digital storytelling is a tool
for making creative and entertaining stories for educational purposes in that
context. It enables to visualize the story in the minds of students, people,
audiences etc. and to make the story accessible for learners regarding second
language learning. Digital storytelling uses technology to explain an idea, a
concept or a traditional story. Digital stories can be prepared in many forms
and on the base of many programs. The stories can be in the form of slideshows,
a podcast, a video, an animation or even some Power Point. It is extremely
useful for teachers to enliven classroom and arouse more student participation
and interest and it has serious areas of usage. Teachers who are shy, forgetful
or bored with traditional presentations can taste the benefit of this
technology without fearing to forget or being silly or incomprehensible for
students. Students who are also bored with traditional narrative teacher style
can like that kind of storytelling and be more active in those classes. It
seems that the only handicap of storytelling is whether or not teacher has an
access to various technological tools such as a personal computer, a
microphone, a digital camera and some free software. Nevertheless when today’s
modern classrooms are taken into consideration, it is possible to say that DS
will be an everyday tool for an ordinary teacher one day hopefully.
Me and my pair, two callow
storytellers, had so much fun that we could hardly stop our laughters. We
seriously cope with Moviemaker. Firstly, we write the script. Before writing,
we thought about first topic then story. I mean we followed a topic-based way:
our topic was place of prepositions. As we targeted kindergarten students, we
had a small scale of them: in, on, under, between and behind. After choosing
the story, it was an easy job to create the story: It flashed in my mind suddenly. We took the
photos of every scene after drawing the furnitures and sequenced them via Moviemaker. We added the voice recordings
and music later. It is needless to say that we learned so much about the moviemaker
and digital storytelling experiencing it in real way.
Lastly, it was a really entertaining
and educational experience for us. We learned something new in every step and we
tried to push limits of creativity and this is true for all the tasks we had
done since the beginning of the course actually.

The first 8 minutes of the interview is devoted to
Julia Roberts and her role in Eat,Pray and Love. The section runs almost
completely with sounds and dialogs taken from the movie.
Movie has to become
something different?
This was presented as a question to the successful Hollywood actress Julia Roberts. she talked about that they made some additions and amendement on the book in terms of plot. She mentioned about the Elizabeth Gilbert’s desires : some kinds of creativeness and liberation but on the other respective of the book. Some expands occurred in the movie developing spontaneously she reports.
As the second question, the interviewer talks about the judgment that the character she plays in the film is seen a bit selfish and she a kind of brave taking a year without doing anything and looking for who she is herself.
“…I never thought that she was selfish I think it is almost like a cultural response
to a woman taing a year to do nothing
but thinking about herself seem
incomprehensible and I think it is really brave but somewhere it is selfish…but this does not
mean it is not necessary or
interesting.”
As the third question , she was asked about whether she feels powerful to do pretty much she wants in the movie. She accepted her capability in a polite way.
As the third question , she was asked about whether she feels powerful to do pretty much she wants in the movie. She accepted her capability in a polite way.
The questions by interviwer was quite out of the common. Julia Roberts answered them sincerely. The conversation betweeen them flowed naturally and ended again in a natural way.
If I were the interviewer , I would ask to her that ;
For a deep understanding , the trailer of the movie;
What kind of difficulties did they have as a film team while making the film :
As the people who watched the film knows locations are so much: New York, Rome and Delhi, India...
Secondly, I would ask ; How did she feel while revivifying her?
